Workshop Details

Jacqui will guide you through the process of building a little feline treasure, or a long nosed best friend.

We will establish some fundamental elements of a successful and secure piece for firing. However, a free spirited approach and self expression is encouraged.

The second element of this workshop is how to take a sketched flat design and produce a template to build your own personal concept into a 3D workable template.

Final clay pieces will be bisque fired and returned to Art Parts within 3 weeks of the workshop date. For Raku Firing of your clay piece, join Jacqui for a second (optional) workshop which you can book at the following link: https://artpartsfinearts.com.au/products/raku-firing-saturday-26-july

About the Artist

Jacqui Melbourne is an Albury-based graphic designer and artist specialising in hand-built, raku-fired ceramic pieces. Known for her love of quirkiness and colour, Jacqui creates works that are playful, expressive and entirely one of a kind.

Her ceramic pieces are fired using the raku process, where each work is heated rapidly in a kiln, removed while glowing hot, and placed into combustible materials. The sudden cooling and smoke interaction create distinctive crackling and rich surface variations - ensuring no two pieces are ever the same.
