Workshop Details

Join us for an exciting and immersive two-day workshop exploring the wonderful possibilities of sketchbooking.

Sketching is the cornerstone of all artistic expression and the reason every artist should keep a sketchbook or journal. Whether your interests lie in natural history, landscapes, urban or travel sketching, whether you want to kickstart a daily sketching habit or simply strengthen your drawing skills, this workshop offers an ideal starting point.

Discover how keeping a sketchbook can ignite your creativity and support your artistic journey. Over the two days, you will explore a variety of media and techniques designed to bring your sketchbook pages to life. From fundamental drawing exercises to mastering quick, expressive sketches under time constraints, the workshop will equip you with practical skills and fresh creative insights.

You will learn to work confidently with pen and ink without preliminary pencil, explore tonal studies, mixed media and gouache, and tackle a wide range of subjects including natural history, landscapes, buildings and perspective, people and faces, with the possibility of some en plein air sketching.

Prior to this workshop, sign up for our Sketchbook Making workshop here: https://artpartsfinearts.com.au/products/sketchbook-making-friday-10-july
