Workshop Details

As parents, we all want our children to grow up happy, confident, and resilient. Understanding their emotional world is a huge part of that. Children don’t always have the words to explain how they feel, but through art - drawings, paintings, and stories - they naturally express what’s happening inside. When parents learn how to listen to these creative signals, they create a safe space where children feel seen, heard and supported.

This workshop helps parents interpret their child’s artwork to gain deeper emotional insight and strengthen communication. Led by Steve Tame, a qualified Art Therapist, the course introduces the foundations of art therapy, teaches parents how to recognise emotional themes in children’s drawings, and provides practical, fun art activities to do together at home. Parents also learn how to identify potential signs of emotional distress and how to respond in a supportive, appropriate way.

Designed for parents of children aged 7–18, the course requires no artistic experience. You’ll also join a supportive community of parents sharing experiences and insights.

Skill Level

No prior art skills are required. This workshop is for parents with children aged 7-18
